Abstract
In the paper, there are analysed transient and steady waveforms of selected quantities of a synchronous generator operating in a single-machine power system (PS) consisting of a generating unit (with a synchronous generator) connected to a bus by a high voltage power line. The influence of asymmetry of the subtransient reactances in the d and q axes on the waveforms occurring after introducing a symmetrical and asymmetrical short-circuits in different places of the transmission line was investigated. The calculations were carried out using the PS model developed in the Matlab-Simulink program. To model the synchronous generator, the appropriately modified generator mathematical model GENROU was used.
