Abstract

The paper presents original numerical analysis of Class E inverter properties concerning the maximisation of its output power. It has been carried out on the basis of a MATLAB model of Class E inverter. High-efficient, 800 W, 16 MHz. Class E and 1 kW, 16 MHz Class EF inverters have been successfully designed, fabricated and tested. The inverters are built employing a DE-SERIES MOSFET and a gate driver manufactured by Directed Energy, Inc. (DEI). The Class EF inverter is introduced as an example of possibility for improvement of the Class E inverter performance. The selected laboratory measurements of both inverters are given and compared to the results obtained from SPICE simulation.
