Abstract

Editor's notes: This article presents a solution to the problem of reliably detecting the position of barrier booms in automatic level-crossing systems. The solution relies on observing the shape of the motor power supply current waveform. The solution is validated using a test stand equivalent to a typical level-crossing system installation.
