Abstract
The paper presents experimental results of the gasification process of the various types of biomass: Miscanthus x giganteous, sewage sludge and algae. Experiments were conducted on laboratory installation equipped with a fixed bed reactor. Combustible properties of the analyzed fuels were determined. Influence of the biomass type and gasification process parameters on the properties of the produced gas were analyzed. Experiments were performed for the wide range of the air ratio λ. It was equal to 0.12, 0.14, 0.16, 0.18, 0.23 and 0.27. Results show that gasification process parametersstrongly influence the produced gas quality. For all analyses biomasses, there is an optimal value of the air ratio in which the produced gas is characterized by the highest values of the lower calorific value. The produced fuel is a lean gas which is a good source of the primary energy use in transformation processes into final form of energy.
