Abstract

The myocardial bridge is a coronary abnormality in which one of the coronary arteries tunnels through the myocardium rather than resting on top of it. During the heart systole this artery is contracted disturbing the normal blood flow. The paper focuses on the modeling of the flow in a developed experimental rig mimicking the myocardial bridge. The results of the CFD simulations of a periodically compressed elastic conduit were presented as pressure and velocity fields.
