Abstract

A review, with 46 refs., of methods for synthesis of 1,3-diarylpropan-1,3- diones and their uses particularly In cosmetics and (as metal complexes) in polymer technol. The Claisen cross condensation of resp. ketones and esters in presence of strong bases was described in detail.
