Abstract
Procedures for evaluation of thermal conditions for occupants in existing buildings assume measurements of thermal parameters in representative rooms during representative operation periods. This paper presents results of thermal environment investigation in two naturally ventilated dwellings. Measurements of thermal parameters were performed under both cold and warm seasons and included continuous recordings of air temperature by temperature loggers over a 2-3-week periods supplemented by a spot measurements of mean radiant temperature. Measurements were conducted according to ISO 7726 requirements. Data analysis and evaluation of the thermal conditions were performed as prescribed by standard EN 15251. Results indicated the importance of internal heat gains and occupants' activity on the evaluation outcome. The paper includes also discussion on the length of representative operation periods in connection with the outdoor weather conditions.
