Abstract

The article analyzes the impact of rotor eccentricity on circulating currents in a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with a delta-connected winding. The conducted simulations and experimental studies demonstrated that an increase in eccentricity leads to a higher root mean square value of the circulating current and the appearance of additional harmonics in the current spectrum. The greatest distortions occur in the presence of predominant dynamic eccentricity. The results confirm the necessity of monitoring and limiting eccentricity to ensure reliable operation of PMSMs with delta-connected windings.
