Dynamic Model for Simulation of Phenomena Occurring in a Planetary Gear Operating in a Power Transmission System

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Vibration and noise accompanying the operation of gears are always unwanted phenomena with harmful effects on the environment. For this reason, it is necessary to work towards reducing these residual processes during gear operation. Such activities should be carried out already at the stage of gear design and take into account the assumed real operating conditions. For economic reasons, machine downtime associated with maintenance should be as rare as possible and planned in advance after a certain period of operation. However, changes in operating conditions, as well as random factors, can cause failures to occur. Therefore, it is advisable to monitor the technical condition of the facilities and carry out their diagnostics in such a way as to reduce the risk of failure to a minimum, without significantly increasing operating costs. The main goal of the presented research was to develop a nonlinear dynamic model of a planetary gear operating in a power transmission system, taking into account, among others an electric motor and a driven working machine. It is possible to use a dynamic model for the issues presented above, that is, for construction, optimization and diagnostics.
