Abstract

In the paper a concept of optimization of heating process of an anode rotary furnace for fire copper refining is presented. A three-dimensional mathematical model of a furnace built in CFD software for lining temperature distribution calculations as well as an algorithm for calculations of temperature gradients in bricks are described. Transient simulating calculations of the furnace heating process have been performed for various work parameters of a burner. The results of simulations have been used for developing empirical function describing influence of process parameters on temperature gradients in the lining. The step-wise regression method have been applied to develop the function.
