Abstract

The paper presents the procedure of selecting the parameters of a grid filter with a common mode choke. The document is organized as a case study, where an example is a multi-converter system supplied from a 500 V three-phase IT grid. Due to the same topology of AC/DC and DC/AC component converters, it is possible to use the same filter for both converters. Particular attention is paid to the problems of the common mode choke, especially the issue of the core saturation effect. The proposed filter has been verified by laboratory tests.
