Abstract
The paper presents an original method for correction of the impact of finite resolution of the digital to analog converter (DAC) on the effective (RMS) value of the sinusoidal signal produced by a digital source of the standard AC voltage. The proposed method involves adding a least significant bit (LSB) to the selected digital representations (samples) of the generated signal. The authors assumed that the relative RMS error of the signal generated with a small number of samples per period should be smaller than 1·μV/V for a 16-bit resolution DAC.
