Abstract

The paper discusses the problem of electromagnetic transients simulation analysis, which may be useful e.g. for the quality of supply estimation and input signals of protection and control systems, with use of the model of the system: induction (doubly fed) generator - power network. In the simulation studies the mathematical models of induction machine and vector controlled power converters are concerned. Special attention has been paid to the grid converter, which can operate as D-STATCOM and may be a mean for reactive power compensation and limitation of voltage fluctuations and sags in the point of common coupling (PCC).
