Abstract
The paper deals with simulation of continual surface induction hardening of 3D steel bodies that represents a complicated coupled problem. Derived is its basic mathematical model consisting of two partial differential equations with time variable boundary conditions that describe the distribution of electromagnetic and temperature fields. These fields are solved numerically by combination of professional codes and procedures developed and written by the authors. The methodology is illustrated on an example whose results are discussed.
