Abstract

Presented paper deals with a description of the in-house CFD code adapted for conjugate heat transfer (CHT) modeling. The brief description of numerical method and validation process was presented. The calculations for gas turbine and steam turbine cooling systems were considered as well. The in-house uRANS solver with a two-equation turbulence model (k-ω, Wilcox) was used, which can predict both the ideal gas and real gas flows. The system of governing equations for the fluid flow is completed by the Fourier equation for the solid. The governing equations for fluid and solid were solved by an integral algorithm using finite volume method with MUSCL technique. In the CHT modeling the transition was taken into account. For validation of presented inhouse CFD code the experimental research results of hot gas flow were used. The specific problems for CHT modeling for steam are stressed.
