Abstract

A generator is a machine that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, obtained through electromagnetic induction during the rotation of the generator's rotor around the stator. The generator casing serves to isolate and hold the necessary components for the generator's operation. A shield, carrying the rotor along with its components, is positioned against the generator casing and can be manufactured using welding procedures. In this study, the formation of residual stresses in the generator casing was analyzed using the finite element method and the method of birth and death of elements.
