Cloud computing for 3D protein structure alignment

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Cloud computing provides huge amount of computational power that can be provisioned on a pay-as-you-go basis. In this chapter, we will see the cloud-based system for 3D protein structure alignment. The system was developed for the Microsoft Azure cloud and reached good, almost linearly proportional acceleration when scaled out onto many computational units. In this chapter, we will see that the alignment process can be successfully scaled out on cloud platforms.
