Abstract

In this work an attempt to determine state of load in funnel chest after correction of deformation by stabilizing plate was made. From biomechanical point of view the knowledge of load value affecting the stabilizer is necessary to select optimal parameters of the plate. The force value affecting the plate used for correction of deformation of the chest by Nuss' method was evaluated on the base of funnel chest skeleton model formulated in ANSYS. Research works which aim was to select optimal thickness of the plate were carried out in next stage. In this work a parametric model of the plate was formulated, where thickness, length, width and flexion size of the plate are parameters of the model. Calculations were conducted for three alternative constraints.
