Abstract
The article presents the idea of diagnostic tests of winding-isolation in transformers and in electrical machines. In this method a direct current is feeding the winding, next the current is switched off and the voltage induced in the winding is being recorded. The Oscillations/wave of voltage - depending on the parameters of the winding insulation - can be aperiodic or periodic. Schematic diagrams of electronic switches both single-speed and multi-speed are presented in this article, as well as sample Oscillations/wave of voltage, recorded - after the current is switched off - on oil-transformer with a capacity of 400 kVA and on 800 kVA dry-transformer.
