ATE for selected low frequency transmission parameters of a general 3-Terminal element

Abstract

This paper describes prototype of an automatic test stand for measurement of selected low frequency transmission parameters. There can be measured any 3-Terminal (3T) element or circuit. There measurements are performed automatically in two directions (forward and backward), thus the 3T element can be non-symmetrical. Following parameters are measured: voltage gain, phase shift, overshoots (positive and negative, on input and output) and time delay. The stand can be extended for measurement of a general 4-Terminal (4T) element, if coupling transformer is used. In such case, long power lines can be evaluated e.g. in context of power-line communication (PLC) analysis. The user interface has been created in LabVIEW environment, which allows fast development and flexibility.
