Abstract
The article presents the results of simulation tests, the aim of which is to reduce the noise emission of the gearbox during operation by appropriate selection of the housing ribbing. The effect was analyzed of the position and shape of additional ribs on changes of the forms of vibration of the upper housing plate and on its vibro activity. On the basis of the conducted simulations using FEM, such a shape of the additional ribbing has been determined whose dimensions ensure a reduction of the vibro activity of the housing and, at the same time, a reduction of nuisance to the environment, with a minor increase in the gearbox weight.
