Abstract

In this work, simple thermodynamic analysis of three different approaches (called concept A, B and C) of the proposed isothermal gas turbine cycle has been carried out. In the concept A, air at the ambient conditions is supplied to the compressor, where is compressed and than is delivered to the regenerative heat exchanger. In this exchanger air is heated up above the ignition temperature of fuel. Compressed and hot air is supplied to the turbine, where it expands. Fuel through the channels drilled in the rotating blades of turbine is delivered into the turbine, where it mixes with hot air and combusts. Decompressed, but hot combustion gases are supplied to the heat exchanger where are cooled by compressed air. In the concept B process of air preheat is partially done by combustion of fuel. This modification is done to lower the maximal working temperature of the heat exchanger. In the concept C, the boiler is introduced in order to produce steam used for flue gas dilution before supplying to the turbine. In further part of the work, coupling of isothermal gas turbine cycle with the steam cycle has been considered. All considered concepts provide the significant increase in efficiency, comparing with existing cycles.
