Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the dynamics of the blast mitigation seat of a military vehicle during drop-test. In the article, a part of the experimental research results of blast mitigation seat are presented. During the research following tests were carried out: testing and analysis of research position—free fall from a height of 3, 2, and 1 m, testing the influence of various bumper designs on the input over-load characteristics based on 4 tests from 2 m, testing and analysis of three different seat construction which were dropped from a high of 2 m. The conducted research is allowed to determine the acceleration levels measured at selected points of a seat and dummy. Assessment of injury risk to the spine in vehicles subjected to explosions was conducted using a standardized model, the Dynamic Response Index (DRI).
