Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Renewable energy sources are playing a key role in the world's energy transition. Wind farms, as RES, contribute greatly to the decarbonization of the economy and allow reducing emissions of harmful substances such as carbon dioxide emitted into the environment. This article presents an economic analysis of a 33 MW onshore wind farm. The levelized cost of energy was determined, which is 147.23 USD/MWh for the base assumptions without external financial support and 63.43 USD/MWh with external support in the form of green certificates. A sensitivity analysis and the impact of the wind turbine rating index and selected parameters on the LCOE of a wind farm are presented. Further development of wind power plants may have a positive impact in the future on lowering the levelized cost of energy.
