Abstract

The paper presents the results of numerical simulations of two-year operation of a heating system with a heat pump and a vertical ground heat exchanger. The heating system is powered by electricity generated in a system of monocrystalline photovoltaic panels. Losses of electrical energy in the photovoltaic system were taken into account. The possibility of using photovoltaic panels as a local source of electricity for this heating system was studied. As indicated by the results of the calculations carried out for the assumed configuration of the vertical ground heat exchanger, the average seasonal coefficient of performance of the entire heating system is about 2.88 in the first heating season and 2.82 in the second, respectively. The photovoltaic system provides annually about 99.1% of the electrical energy needed in the heating system in the first heating season and about 96.2% in the second season, assuming the possibility of annual energy balancing with the power system and the possibility of using 80% of the electricity transferred to the grid from the photovoltaic system. The level of the direct use of electricity is relatively low and accounts for 18.5% of the energy demand in the first season and 15.3% in the second season.
