Abstract
The paper presents a general consideration regarding a statistical approach to the detection of signals having special features. The QRS complex detection is particularly considered as this signal seems to be most important in electrocardiography, and is the signal of main interest to the authors. Also, a detailed description of a computational procedure for QRS detection, which is independent on the patient, is discussed.
