Abstract
Active Structural Acoustic Control, an approach with practical potential, is focused on minimizing the acoustic radiation from operating machines. It uses an encapsulated structure with sensors and actuators to reduce the noise. This paper presents an analysis of two methods for activating specific subset of control filters within a noise-controlling casing system. By applying these methods, computational complexity can be reduced while retaining performance levels comparable to the full-scale system, where all the actuators are operating. These approaches has the potential of enhancing performance in real-time control applications for systems with a large number of actuators. The selection strategies are evaluated, accompanied by a simple analysis of the computational complexity. The simulations were conducted using plant models of a pre-existing physical system as a reference.
