Abstract

The LMS algorithm is commonly used in active noise and vibration control. The algorithm in practice proves to be flexible and robust. Some of the properties of this algorithm, like robustness, has already been explained theoretically. However, the detailed analysis is still unknown due to highly nonlinear behavior. This paper is a continuation of work on stability analysis of the LMS algorithm. The new criterion has been proposed previously. Based on this criterion new algorithm for LMS step size adjustment has been developed. This paper describes simulation experiments on active noise control using the new proposed algorithm.
